We always let the puppies who have put on least weight in the last 24 hours have some extra time with Cali so that they don't have to deal with their more pushy siblings.

While Stewart cleans out the whelping box, the puppies have a snooze elsewhere. Surely this can't be comfortable?

Worming Episode 2

Just a few images from the worming tonight. One more day to go and they have a two and half weeks rest. They will put up a fight then, our tactics change as they get older!

Wormer

Today the puppies were wormed for the first time.

Yellow always sleeps on top of another puppy.

Every time I see dog mess on a walk I pick it up. I use these at 35 pence per packet of 300. It costs next to nothing to clean up after your dog and bin it. I carry a pocket full of the bags and if I see a dog fouling and the owner just leave it there I offer a bag. I have been known to bag it and give it to the owner telling them that their dog has left them something and perhaps they would like to pop it into the red bin provided. The dogs love to go to Hazlemere Rec and have a run on the football pitches and go through the woods. You have no idea how much dog mess is left on these pitches and kids and adults play on them nearly every day! These dog owners are spoiling it for us who do "Pick-Bag-Bin". Please, if you are a lady alone, don't ever approach any one when walking alone. Those that don't PBB are likely to be a bit lippy. Leave well alone!

Worming

The puppies are 14 days old today! Tonight they start the first course of worming. The course is over three days and they will have it at 2 weeks, 5 weeks and 8 weeks. We use Panacur "Small Animal 10% Oral Suspension" Look out for photographs this evening. Its the puppies first taste of something other than milk!

Sit tight

The first time I've seen Cali do this. In a few days she wont even lie down to feed them, they will be big enough to reach her!

Summer

This made us all smile. This is Summer, a girl from Cali's first litter. Watching the puppies feed on facebook! Well, they are sisters after all! Lovely girl and local, same vet as us. The vet and his staff love Summer, Alba and Cali as they all went for vet checks there, nine puppies all at once stick is your mind!
