You may have noticed that for a little while the group photo's have only had 8 puppies in them. Now I have spoken to all the people who are coming to see the puppies on October 8th I can explain. On Saturday September 24th we noticed a puppy was making no effort to get up and feed from Cali. We discovered Pink bottom (above) seemed unable to stand. We spoke with the vet and followed her advice about keeping an eye on her (who wouldn't). Sunday was no better but she was eating. Monday at 8am I was at the vets door with the puppy and they saw me immediately. Her temp was high and she was in some distress. She was not floppy but couldn’t stand and her breathing was shallow and rapid. After a very thorough examination the vet, Maurice Walters senior partner at CROSSROADS VETERINARY CENTRE said she probably had some sort of infection in her leg. A small shot of antibiotics and oral anti-inflammatory with a pain killer was given. Mr Walters wanted to see us on the Tuesday, so off we trotted. A little better but not much. Two lots of antibiotics and pain relief twice daily. Back on Wednesday for an x-ray. X-ray showed some damage to the femur and fluid around the joint but she was so much better and putting weight on every day. Back today, Monday 3rd and all is going very well. She has put lots of weight on and has stronger antibiotics for the next two weeks. The difference in this puppy is absolutely incredible. Even the vet can’t believe his eyes. Last week was awful as you can imagine but she is getting so much stronger and walking around. This is one very brave puppy and guess what?, she’s staying right here with us!!!. Now, a name.............
